Minnehallen is a striking stone memorial hall perched above the harbor in Stavern, built to honor the thousands of seafarers lost in both World Wars. The neoclassical facade photographs beautifully with a wide-angle lens, especially when you frame it against the sky and use the steps or surrounding stonework as foreground interest. The building faces the sea, so golden hour light in the late afternoon and at sunset wraps across the facade in warm tones while the bay glimmers behind it, giving you a strong combination of architecture and seascape in a single frame. You can also move down toward the waterfront to shoot back toward the memorial with the harbor in the foreground, adding depth and context. The site is easily accessible on foot from central Stavern, and the open grounds give you room to find your angle without obstruction. (Stavern, Vestfold, Norway)
