Steinvika

Steinvika is a secluded rocky bay on the Telemark coast where smooth, glacier-worn slabs of granite slope gently into calm coastal waters, creating a naturally photogenic foreground that works beautifully in almost any light. The rounded rock formations are the real draw here; position yourself low to the ground and use the undulating stone surfaces as leading lines toward the water and the islands visible offshore. Golden hour and sunset are exceptional, with warm light skimming across the textured rock faces and reflecting off the sheltered bay. A wide-angle lens in the 16-35mm range lets you emphasize the sweeping foreground while keeping the horizon and sky in frame. The bay is accessible on foot via a short trail, and low tide opens up more of the rock shelf to explore. Arriving early gives you time to scout compositions before the light hits.
