Montparnasse Tower View

 Montparnasse Tower View - Photo by Amir1 / 1

The Tour Montparnasse observation deck sits 210 meters above Paris and offers one of the city's most compelling elevated perspectives, placing the Eiffel Tower directly in your frame with the full spread of the city stretching behind it. Unlike shooting from the Eiffel Tower itself, here you get the tower as your subject rather than your vantage point, and the unobstructed sightlines make it easy to compose clean, wide cityscape shots. A wide-angle lens works well for sweeping panoramas, while a short telephoto lets you compress the Eiffel Tower against the rooftops below. Blue hour and the hour after sunset are the most rewarding times, when the city lights begin to glow and the tower sparkles on the hour. The indoor viewing level has large windows so you can shoot in any weather, and the outdoor terrace on the 59th floor gives you a completely clear, railing-free foreground.
