Myklebust Sjøbad is a natural tidal pool carved into the rocky coastline of Tananger, where the sea fills and drains with the rhythm of the tides, creating a striking interplay between still water and the rugged surrounding rocks. The pool blends seamlessly into the coastal landscape, and the reflections it holds at golden hour make it especially rewarding to shoot. Position yourself low on the rocks to capture the water's mirror-like surface with the surrounding stone and sky reflected in it, or step back to show the full context of pool meeting ocean. A wide angle lens works well for sweeping compositions that include the layered rock textures and any distant islets. Sunset is the prime window here, when warm light catches the wet rock faces and the pool glows with color; blue hour extends the shooting time nicely as the sky deepens.
