Paisley Abbey
Paisley Abbey is a striking medieval church in the heart of Paisley town centre, with a soaring Gothic exterior, intricate stonework, and a richly detailed interior that rewards both wide and close-up compositions. Outside, the ornate west front makes a strong subject, especially from across Abbey Close where you can capture the full facade with some foreground context. Inside, the long nave draws the eye toward the chancel, making it ideal for a wide-angle shot at 16-24mm to emphasise the vaulted ceiling and rows of columns. Light filtering through the stained glass windows is best in the morning on a bright day, casting warm colour across the stone interior. Entry is free, and the church is generally open to visitors during daytime hours; arriving early on a weekday gives you the best chance of an empty interior without tourists in frame.
