Paphos Castle is a small stone fortress sitting at the edge of the harbour. It was originally built as a Byzantine fort and later rebuilt by the Ottomans. It has a simple, solid design with thick walls and a square shape, which makes it stand out against the open water and surrounding promenade. The location is easy to work with, as you can shoot it from the harbour side, along the waterfront, or from a bit further back to include boats and the coastline. It is a great spot for clean, balanced compositions, especially with reflections in calm water. Sunset is a strong time to be here, with warm light hitting the stone and the sky adding colour behind it. (Paphos, Cyprus)
