Parque Eduardo VII is a formal urban park that stretches up a gentle hill from Pombal Square, offering one of Lisbon's most rewarding symmetrical compositions. The park's long central promenade, flanked by perfectly trimmed hedgerows, creates a natural leading line that draws the eye down toward the Tagus River and the city below. Position yourself near the top of the hill for the strongest perspective, where the geometry of the hedgerows compresses beautifully with a longer focal length, around 70 to 200mm, with the river glinting in the distance. Early morning gives you soft, even light and far fewer people on the central axis, making clean shots much easier to achieve. The park is flat enough along the central strip to be very accessible, and the elevated viewpoint at the top requires no special access. Misty or overcast mornings can add a moody quality to the layered rooftops and water beyond. (Lisbon, Portugal)
