Peace Bridge
Spanning the Niagara River between Buffalo and Fort Erie, the Peace Bridge is a graceful steel arch structure that photographs beautifully from multiple vantage points along both shorelines. The grassy waterfront parks on either side give you room to frame the bridge against the sky, with the wide river adding strong reflections on calm days. A wide-angle lens works well for capturing the full span with foreground water, while a longer focal length lets you compress the arch and traffic into tighter compositions. Sunrise and sunset are both strong here; morning light catches the eastern face cleanly, and the bridge's LED color lighting activates at dusk and runs into the evening, making blue hour a particularly rewarding time to visit. The Canadian side at Fort Erie offers slightly more open sightlines and easier access to the waterfront. Bring a tripod for the evening shots to make the most of the illuminated structure.
