Peleș Castle sits at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains in the Carpathians. Built between 1873 and 1914 as a summer residence for King Carol I, the castle is known for its elaborate Neo-Renaissance architecture, detailed stonework, timber framing, and steeply pitched roofs. Surrounded by forest and mountain scenery, the setting adds to its dramatic appearance. Inside, the castle features richly decorated rooms with carved wood, stained glass, ornate ceilings, and an extensive collection of art and weapons. The terraces, statues, and landscaped gardens around the building provide additional viewpoints and photo opportunities, making Peleș Castle one of Romania’s most impressive historic landmarks. (Sinaia, Prahova County, Romania)
