Petřín Lookout Tower

Built in 1891 as a smaller homage to the Eiffel Tower, Petřín Lookout Tower rises above the forested hillside of Petřín Park and offers some of the most rewarding architectural and cityscape photography in Prague. From the observation deck, you get sweeping 360-degree views across the red rooftops, church spires, and the winding Vltava River below. Shooting from ground level looking up through the surrounding trees works well with a wide-angle lens to emphasize the tower's ornate iron lattice against the sky. Early morning is ideal when mist often settles over the city and the light is soft, while the golden hour before sunset brings warm tones across the Prague skyline.
