Piedmont Mill Historic District
A view from the east of the Piedmont Mill Historic District, located at Alean Road's crossing of Maggodee Creek southwest of Burnt Chimneys. From left to right are the mill (1866), the bridge (2013), a shed (undated), and the miller's house (1870s). When the historic district was designated, the road was carried by a 1920s bridge, crumbling and structurally unsound. The bridge has since been replaced with a modern bridge for safety reasons.
