Point of Ayr Lighthouse
Point of Ayr Lighthouse sits scenically out in the sand of Talacre beach. It was built in 1776 to warn ships entering between the Dee and the Mersey Estuary. It eventually fell into disuse and was decommissioned in 1884. It is now a privately owned property but you can get close along the beach. This location is especially photogenic at low tide and can have quite dramatic lighting during sunrise/sunset. (Talacre, Wales)
