Prometheus Cave is one of Georgia's most dramatic natural wonders, a vast karst system carved through limestone in the Imereti region, where towering stalactites, cascading flowstone curtains, and vivid mineral formations fill a series of enormous chambers. The guided route takes you through six illuminated halls, each with its own character, so pay attention to the colored lighting as it shifts across the formations and look for reflections in the underground pools and streams. A wide angle lens works well for capturing the scale of the chambers, while a longer focal length helps isolate individual stalactite clusters or curtain formations against the lit backgrounds. Long exposures on a tripod will let you work with the low ambient light; bring a small tripod as shooting handheld is difficult. Visiting on a weekday reduces crowds, giving you more time to compose without other visitors in the frame. (Kumistavi, Imereti, Georgia)
