Tucked within Mount Robson Provincial Park, this striking waterfall tumbles down rocky terrain with the retreating toe of Robson Glacier visible behind it, creating a layered composition that combines cascading water, weathered moraine, and glacial ice in a single frame. You can position yourself along the trail to stack the waterfall against the glacier, or move closer to isolate the cascade with the ice field softly out of focus in the background. A wide angle lens works well for capturing the full scene with context, while a mid-range telephoto helps compress the distance between the water and glacier. Overcast days are ideal here since they soften harsh contrasts and bring out the cool blues of the ice and the greens of surrounding vegetation. The trail is hikeable but requires solid footwear as the terrain near the glacier toe can be uneven and wet. Arrive earlier in the day before afternoon clouds typically build over the Rockies.
