Sobu Line View
Ochanomizu Bridge gives you one of Tokyo's most satisfying urban compositions, with the Sobu Line trains running through a narrow river canyon flanked by stone retaining walls, bridges, and dense city buildings stacked up behind. The key shot is from the bridge railing looking east or west along the Kanda River, where you can compress the scene with a telephoto lens and time your shutter to catch a yellow Chuo or Sobu Line train mid-frame. A wider lens works well too if you want to include more of the surrounding architecture. Blue hour and evening are ideal, when the train windows glow and the city lights reflect off the water below. The bridge is easily walkable from Ochanomizu Station and the shooting position is right on the pedestrian path. Trains run frequently, so you rarely wait long for a frame.
