Wadakura Fountain Park
Wadakura Fountain Park sits just outside the Imperial Palace East Gardens in central Tokyo, offering a rare green and water-filled foreground against the backdrop of the Marunouchi skyline. The park's large central fountain complex, with its cascading tiers and reflecting pools, gives you strong geometric shapes to work with. Try shooting low and close to the water surface to capture reflections of the surrounding office towers, or pull back with a wider lens to include the fountain's full structure alongside the modern skyline. Evening is the most rewarding time to visit, when the fountain's lights activate and the illuminated water contrasts beautifully with the lit-up buildings behind it. A 24-70mm lens handles most situations well here. The park is free to enter, easy to reach from Nijubashimae Station, and open late enough to shoot well into the blue hour. (Tokyo, Japan)
