St. Clair Falls is one of Sri Lanka's widest waterfalls, often called the "Little Niagara of Sri Lanka," dropping in two distinct tiers through lush tea country in the central highlands. The wide curtain of water framed by vivid green tea plantations makes for a compelling composition, and you have several angles to work with, from roadside viewpoints that give you the full two-step cascade to lower positions closer to the base where mist and foreground rocks add depth. A wide-angle lens works well to capture the full width of the falls alongside the surrounding greenery. Visit during or just after the monsoon season for the most dramatic flow. Overcast days are ideal since they soften harsh shadows and keep greens saturated. The falls are easily visible from the main A7 highway between Hatton and Nuwara Eliya, with informal pullover spots along the road. (Talawakele, Central Province, Sri Lanka)
