St. James Catholic Church and Cemetery
From Wikipedia St. James Catholic Church and Cemetery in Lemont took six years to complete the church, mostly because it was difficult to move the large stones up the hill. Those that did the most were were given cemetery plots close to the church in return. Construction was finally completed in 1858. It was a mission church until 1882, when Joseph Bollman became the first pastor.
