SwissTech Convention Center
Sitting on the EPFL campus in Lausanne, the SwissTech Convention Center is a striking piece of contemporary architecture best known for its west facade, which is covered in colorful dye-sensitized solar panels that shift between vivid hues of red, orange, and green depending on the light angle. Shoot the facade in the afternoon when the sun hits it directly, bringing out the richest color saturation in the cells. For compositions, try a wide-angle lens low and close to exaggerate the scale of the panels, or step back across the open plaza to capture the full facade with clean sky above. Inside, the lobby and auditorium spaces offer strong geometric lines, bold curves, and dramatic lighting worth exploring with a 24-70mm range. The campus is pedestrian-friendly and easy to reach by metro from central Lausanne; weekdays outside of major events give you the most unobstructed access to the exterior.
