Tarrytown Light is a sparkplug lighthouse on the east side of the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow. It a conical steel structure erected in the 1880s. The high cost of land at the two favored locations led the federal government to instead build it a 1⁄2 mile offshore. It was the only conical steel lighthouse on the Hudson to have living quarters within it rather than attached to it.
