Teter Rock

James Teter piled rocks as a marker to guide pioneers searching for the Cottonwood River in the late 1870s. Over time all these waypoints were destroyed as the rock was re-purposed for building materials. However, in 1954, this slab was erected in Mr. Teter's honour. Today the marker is a unique stopping point, that while covered in graffiti now, remains quite photogenic. (Cassoday, Kansas, USA)
