Trakai Island Castle and Bridge

Trakai Island Castle is a restored medieval castle set on an island in Lake Galvė, just outside Vilnius in Lithuania. Built in the 14th century as a defensive stronghold, it is now one of the country’s most recognizable historic sites, connected to the shore by a long wooden bridge. The red brick towers and walls stand out against the water, making it an easy subject to work with from multiple angles around the lake. You can shoot from the shoreline for classic wide views, use the bridge as a leading line, or circle the area to find different perspectives with reflections in the water. It works well in all seasons, with calm conditions giving you clean reflections and winter adding a completely different feel when the lake freezes.
