About Victoria Memorial Grounds
This is one of the most iconic sites of Calcutta. Victoria Memorial is a large marble building which was built between 1906 and 1921, and dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria (1809–1901). It is now a museum and tourist destination under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The building is surrounded by stunning grounds and statues, including the Edwardvs VII REX Imperator Statue.
