Perched at the top of Hong Kong Island, this iconic overlook delivers one of the most dramatic urban panoramas in the world, with the dense skyline of Central stacked against Victoria Harbour and Kowloon stretching out beyond. The classic composition frames the skyscrapers in the foreground with the harbour as a natural dividing line, but you can also work the railing for tighter shots that compress the towers together using a telephoto in the 70-200mm range. The viewing terrace at The Peak Tower is the most accessible spot, though walking a short distance along Harlech or Lugard Road opens up wider angles with fewer crowds. Blue hour, just after sunset, gives you the ideal balance of ambient sky color and city lights; full night works well too but the sky goes flat. Take the Peak Tram or bus 15 from Central, and arrive early to secure a front-row position at the railing. (Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong)
