View of Chéticamp Lighthouse and Harbour
Perched on the western coast of Cape Breton Island, this spot gives you a classic Maritime scene combining a red and white Acadian-style lighthouse with a working fishing harbour and the weathered boardwalk that ties it all together. Position yourself along the boardwalk to use it as a leading line drawing the eye toward the lighthouse, or move closer to the harbour to frame colourful fishing boats in the foreground with the structure rising behind them. The Gulf of St. Lawrence provides a broad, open backdrop, and on calm days the water reflects the surrounding colours beautifully. Golden hour light in the morning hits the lighthouse facade cleanly, while late afternoon brings warmer tones across the whole scene. A wide angle lens handles the full harbour context well, but a short telephoto lets you compress the lighthouse against the Chéticamp Island shoreline. Parking is easy and the boardwalk is flat and walkable. (Chéticamp, Nova Scotia, Canada)
