About View of Mount Shasta
This location along the side of US-97 (Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway) has amazing views of Mount Shasta as it towers over the surrounding countryside. Mount Shasta is a possibly active volcano at the southern end of the Cascade Range. Sitting at an elevation of 14,179 feet, it is the second-highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth-highest in the state. The record of eruptions over the last 10,000 years suggests that, on average, at least one eruption occurs every 800 to 600 years at Mt Shasta. (Weed, California, USA)
