Standing along the Limmat River in Zurich's Escher-Wyss district, you get a striking view of the Swissmill Tower, the tallest operating grain elevator in the world, rising dramatically above the surrounding industrial waterfront. The tower's brutalist concrete form reflects beautifully in the river when conditions are calm, making a foreground reflection a strong compositional choice. Try positioning yourself along the riverbank to use the water as a leading element, or step back to include the riverside walkway and neighboring buildings for a sense of urban scale. A wide to standard zoom in the 24-70mm range works well here. Blue hour and golden hour both deliver excellent results; morning light catches the tower's textured facade cleanly, while evening brings warmer tones and city glow. The area is accessible on foot or by tram, and the riverbank gives you plenty of room to adjust your framing. (Zurich, Switzerland)
