About Virgin Mary Processional Chapel
Village processions once stopped to pray at the Chapelle de Procession de la Sainte-Vierge (Virgin Mary Processional Chapel), now this charming little chapel just sits peacefully along Chemin du Domaine. It was originally built in the 1730s, using from the materials from an earlier 1700s chapel. The front wall is stuccoed stone while the sides are clad in vertical boards, giving it two distinct textures. This tiny chapel even has its own little bell tower complete with an eight sided lantern and spire. Shooting the front square on from the roadside lets you line the doors up directly under the tower and highlight its classic historic chapel design, just in mini size. If you shot it from a slight angle you can show the various textures and capture just how small this chapel is. The chapel stands just east of the Saint-Étienne Shurch, inside the heritage village of Beaumont. (Beaumont, Quebec, Canada)
