Wile Carding Mill and Museum
In operation from 1860-1968 this water mill served the local community by carding wool. Carding breaks down wool from clumps into strands so it can be used in textiles. It is traditionally done by hand, but this mill automated the process with the power of the local stream. The mill ceased operation in 1968 and was sold to the Nova Scotia government in 1973 who still operate it as a museum to this day. (Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada)
