Zinal Valley sits at the end of Val d'Anniviers, offering dramatic alpine scenery where green pastures give way to glacial terrain beneath a crown of peaks exceeding 4000 meters. The Zinal Glacier draws your eye up the valley, and the best compositions frame it with the foreground wildflowers and meadows in summer, or snow-dusted pines in winter. Shooting from the village outskirts gives you a clean sightline toward the glacier with the ridgeline of the Couronne Impériale, including the Weisshorn and Zinalrothorn, filling the upper frame. Morning light is ideal, catching soft alpenglow on the high peaks before midday haze builds. A wide angle lens handles the sweeping valley views well, while a telephoto lets you compress the glacier against the peaks. The valley road is accessible by car or postbus from Sierre, and several marked trails push deeper into the terrain for elevated vantage points. (Zinal, Ayer, Switzerland)
