Åmot kirke is a charming white wooden church from 1902 that sits beautifully against the surrounding Norwegian landscape, offering a classic Scandinavian ecclesiastical composition. The white exterior contrasts well with green hillsides in summer or snow in winter, so position yourself at a slight angle from the front to capture both the tower and the main body of the church with depth. Wide to standard focal lengths work best outside, while a 24-70mm range lets you shift between environmental shots and tighter architectural details. Inside, the restored choir cabinets, wooden sculptures, and historic baptismal font from 1777 reward careful compositions with a 24mm or wider lens to capture the intimate nave. Overcast days are ideal for exterior shooting as they eliminate harsh shadows on the white facade, while soft morning light adds warmth and dimension. The church is easily accessible from Rena and the grounds give you room to explore multiple angles. (Rena, Innlandet, Norway)
