Barcelona's triumphal arch stands at the top of Passeig de Lluís Companys, a wide promenade flanked by symmetrical rows of lamp posts and trees that create a natural leading line drawing the eye straight to the structure. Shoot from low and centered on the promenade to use the perspective compression, or move in close and angle upward to emphasize the arch's ornate red brick detailing and sculptural reliefs. The promenade runs roughly north to south, so morning light catches the front face of the arch with warm, directional sun before it flattens out midday. A 24-35mm lens works well for including the full arch with context, while a longer focal length lets you compress the lamp post rows dramatically. The area is pedestrian-friendly and easy to access, and the promenade itself gives you plenty of room to experiment with framing and distance. (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain)
