Perched on a steep cliff face above the inner reaches of Bergsfjord, this cantilevered viewing platform gives you an unobstructed bird's-eye view over a dramatic fjord enclosed by jagged, snow-capped peaks. The platform itself becomes part of the composition, so shoot along its curved railing to create a strong leading line sweeping out toward the water below. Wide and ultra-wide lenses work best here, letting you capture both the vertiginous drop beneath your feet and the full sweep of the surrounding mountains. Overcast days soften the harsh contrasts between dark water and bright peaks, while clear mornings bring crisp reflections on the fjord surface. Midday light in summer is surprisingly usable this far north, as the sun stays low enough to add depth to the mountain faces.
