Ersfjordstranda is a white sand beach tucked into the inner reaches of Ersfjord on Senja island, framed on all sides by dramatic, steep-sided peaks that drop almost directly into the water. The combination of pale sand, cold blue fjord water, and jagged mountain reflections makes this one of the most photogenic beaches in Norway. Face inland from the waterline to compress the mountains behind the beach, or wade into the shallows for a low angle that puts the reflections in the foreground. Golden hour light in summer hits the peaks with warm tones while the sand stays bright, and during winter you have a chance at northern lights arcing over the mountains. A wide to mid-range zoom handles most situations well here. Parking is available directly at the beach, and the shoreline is easy to walk along for varied compositions. (Senja, Troms, Norway)
