Bohus Fortress is a striking medieval ruin perched on a rocky outcrop where the Nordre älv and Göta älv rivers meet, its crumbling towers and thick stone walls rising dramatically against the sky. The warm red and grey tones of the stonework photograph beautifully, especially in the low angled light of golden hour when shadows carve depth into the textured surfaces. Try shooting from the riverbank below to capture the full scale of the fortress against the sky, or climb inside the ruins to frame broken archways and tower remnants as natural foreground elements. A wide angle lens works well for the sweeping exterior shots, while a standard prime suits the close detail work inside. Morning light tends to be softer and the site is quieter then. The fortress is easily walkable from central Kungälv and the surrounding riverside paths give you multiple vantage points to explore. (Kungälv, Västra Götaland, Sweden)
