About Bugio Lighthouse
The Bugio Lighthouse is located in the center of the Fort of São Lourenço da Cabeça Seca, it is a circular masonry tower topped by a red lantern and balcony. The fort sits just offshore in the mouth of the Tagus River on a small island that originally was a sandbar formed by the dynamics of the river waters mixing with the strong currents of the Atlantic Ocean.
