The Bullitt Center is a six-story commercial building on Capitol Hill widely regarded as one of the most sustainable structures ever built, and its striking timber-and-glass facade makes it genuinely compelling to photograph. The deep-set wood louvers on the exterior create strong geometric patterns that reward a longer focal length, around 70-200mm, to compress the details and isolate the repeating lines. The southeast corner gives you the most dynamic angle, letting you capture the cantilevered staircase visible through the glass alongside the surrounding neighborhood context. Overcast days work especially well here because the soft, diffused light brings out the warmth of the Douglas fir timber without harsh shadows cutting across the louvers. The building sits right on 15th Avenue E, so you have easy access from the sidewalk; try shooting slightly low and angled upward to emphasize the building's height and its contrast with the sky above.
