Burj Khalifa
Standing at 828 meters, the Burj Khalifa dominates the Dubai skyline and rewards photographers who put thought into their approach rather than just pointing up from the base. From ground level at the Dubai Fountain plaza, a wide-angle lens lets you capture the full tower reflecting in the water, especially striking during the fountain shows at night when the surrounding lights add drama. For a more compressed, geometric look, step back toward the Financial Centre Road area to shoot through the city fabric. The blue hour window, roughly 20 to 30 minutes after sunset, is the sweet spot when the sky transitions from orange to deep blue and the tower's lights begin to glow. The base is easily walkable from the Dubai Mall, and the surrounding plaza gives you plenty of room to experiment with symmetry, reflections, and leading lines from the fountain boardwalk.
