About Castello di Carpineti
Castello di Carpineti are the ruins of a medieval castle that built in the early 1000s. Pope Gregory VII took refuge there to defend himself from Henry IV in 1077. The castle has sat abandoned and falling into ruins for atleast the last hundred years. (Carpineti, Province of Reggio Emilia, Italy)
