About Castle Stalker

Castle Stalker, sitting on a small tidal islet in Loch Laich, is one of the most photogenic castles in the Highlands. This four-story stone tower house, set against a backdrop of rolling hills and often moody skies, offers striking compositions from the shoreline and elevated viewpoints along the nearby A828. At high tide, the castle appears to float on the water, while low tide reveals rocky textures and reflections that make this the perfect location for long exposure and sunset photography. Ideally try to time your shooting adventure to be during the soft morning light or during golden hour. The whole site is easily accessible from along the A828. There are various private boat tours available to book if you are looking for closer access. Plus, the castle and its grounds were used as a film location once for Monty Python's Holy Grail. (Loch Laich, Argyll, Scotland)
