The Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola at Campus Martius is a Roman Catholic church in central Rome, built in the Baroque style between 1626 and 1650. Located near the Pantheon, it was constructed for the Jesuit order and remains an important religious and historic site. The interior is richly decorated, with detailed frescoes and ornate designs throughout. One of its most distinctive features is the painted dome illusion by Andrea Pozzo, created because there were not enough funds to build a real dome. The result is a convincing trompe l’oeil ceiling that appears three dimensional when viewed from the marked spot on the floor. The combination of grand scale, detailed artwork, and clever visual design makes the interior especially striking. (Rome, Italy)
