Crestasee
Crestasee, or Lake Cresta, is a small emerald-green alpine lake set within a quiet forest clearing above the Rhine Gorge at 844 metres. Surrounded by dense woodland and steep valley slopes, the lake offers striking reflections, rich natural tones, and intimate compositions that work beautifully for both landscape and detail photography. The compact shoreline makes it easy to experiment with foreground elements such as trees, rocks, and gentle ripples, especially during calm mornings when the water is still. Access is exclusively on foot, requiring a 20-minute walk from Trin-Mulin or a longer 1.5–2 hour hike from Caumasee, which helps preserve its peaceful atmosphere. Early morning and late afternoon provide the most balanced light, enhancing the lake’s vivid color and tranquil alpine setting. (Flims, Switzerland)
