David Lam Park
Sitting along the north shore of False Creek, David Lam Park gives you a wide, open foreground of water and manicured green space with the glass condo towers of Yaletown rising dramatically behind you and the mountains of the North Shore visible on clear days. The curved seawall path works well as a leading line pulling the eye toward Science World's geodesic dome to the east, and the calm water of False Creek often gives you clean reflections of the surrounding towers. Shoot during the blue hour after sunset when the condo lights come on and the sky holds a deep gradient above the skyline; golden hour morning light from the east also catches the towers nicely. A wide angle lens handles the full scene well, while a short telephoto lets you compress the dome against the buildings. Street parking is limited, so arrive by foot or bike along the seawall.
