Under Cambie Bridge
Standing beneath the Cambie Bridge gives you one of Vancouver's most dramatic urban compositions, with the bridge's bold concrete arches framing the False Creek waterway and the city skyline beyond. Position yourself along the seawall on either the north or south shore to use the arch spans as natural frames, or get low near the water's edge to emphasize reflections and create strong symmetry. The underside of the bridge itself makes for compelling abstract shots, with repeating structural geometry and converging lines leading toward the light at either end. Golden hour works well here, especially in the morning when soft light catches the water and the downtown towers glow in the background. The seawall is fully paved and accessible year-round; a wide-angle lens in the 16-35mm range lets you capture the full arch span without distortion. (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)
