The dinosaur is "Fern," a 26 m bronze cast of Dippy the Diplodocus. A new bronze diplodocus cast, christened "Fern" by local schoolchildren, stands ready to greet the crowds, and the gardens opened to visitors on 18 July 2024. It is the world's first fully self-supporting, life-size bronze Diplodocus cast, engineered with post-tensioned cables so that on a windy day the head and tail move in tandem. The smaller skeleton you can sometimes spot beside it is a bronze Hypsilophodon. (London, England, UK)
