Double Arch
Double Arch is one of the most dramatic geological formations in Arches National Park, where two massive sandstone arches share a common base and frame sweeping views of the surrounding desert and sky. Unlike many arches that reward distant telephoto shots, this one pulls you in close; walk right underneath and look straight up to capture the arches converging overhead, a perspective that emphasizes their sheer scale and makes for a striking wide-angle composition. A 16-35mm lens works beautifully here for those looking-up shots, while a medium zoom lets you isolate details in the textured red rock. Morning light brings warm tones to the sandstone and keeps crowds manageable, though overcast days can be surprisingly good for even exposure across the bright rock faces. The trail from the parking area is short and relatively flat, making it accessible for most photographers. (Arches National Park, Utah, United States)
