About Église Saint-François-Xavier

The church and presbytery of Saint-François-Xavier stand together on a rise above the streets of Rivière-du-Loup. Built in 1905, the church came first, and the stone presbytery beside it followed in 1913. An old parish hall, mature trees and a low stone wall fill out the rest of this historic site. Shooting from the street below highlights how impressive the church is at it sits above you against a rich blue sky. Autumn colour in the trees adds pops of colour against all the grey stone of the historic buildings. Winter suits the grey stone, and snow gives your compositions a whole different feel. The site sits in an older neighbourhood with lots of parking is on the street. (Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, Canada)
