Sitting at the tip of a long stone jetty on the northern edge of the Venice Lagoon entrance, this compact red-and-white lighthouse marks the channel where ferries, water taxis, and larger vessels pass remarkably close. The jetty itself is your best compositional tool, use it as a leading line stretching toward the lighthouse with the open Adriatic beyond, or position yourself along the rocks to frame passing boats against the structure. Golden hour before sunset works beautifully here, with warm light hitting the lighthouse facade and reflecting off the calm lagoon water. Early morning is quieter and often misty, which adds mood. A 24-70mm lens covers most situations, though a longer focal length lets you compress the distance between boats and the lighthouse for dramatic effect. The jetty is publicly accessible on foot and the walk from the Punta Sabbioni ferry terminal takes around fifteen minutes. (Punta Sabbioni, Metropolitan City of Venice, Italy)
