The Flø shoreline stretches along a rugged stretch of western Norwegian coast, where smooth wave-worn boulders meet sandy pockets and the open Atlantic rolls in with real force. The interplay of rock textures, foamy water, and the surrounding hills gives you a lot to work with in a single frame. Wide-angle lenses suit this spot well, letting you get low and close to the foreground rocks while pulling in the sky and horizon. Long exposures at slower shutter speeds will smooth out the wave action around the boulders for a more dramatic effect. Sunset is the standout time to visit, with warm light catching the wet rock surfaces and painting the western sky; overcast days also work well, softening contrast and bringing out the cool tones in the stone. The shoreline is accessible on foot and relatively open, giving you freedom to move along the water's edge and find your composition. (Flø, Møre og Romsdal, Norway)
