Floe Lake is a stunning alpine lake backed by rugged mountains. It is only accessible by a 10km (out and back) hiking trail that leaves from the marked Floe Lake Trailhead along Highway 93. There is a backcountry campground at the lake as well as a Warden's cabin staffed by Parks Canada. There is a great description of the hike here -- www.theoutbound.com/canada/hiking/hike-the-floe-lake-trail. (Kootenay National Park, British Columbia, Canada)
